Manufacturer: Cipla, India
Pharmaceutical name: Sildenafil Citrate
The primary ingredient in Suhagra is Sildenafil Citrate. This substance is classified as a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor. Generally, the medication is employed to address erectile dysfunction (male impotence). Sildenafil Citrate influences how the body responds to sexual stimulation. By utilizing a compound known as nitric oxide, it promotes the relaxation of smooth muscles, which facilitates increased blood flow to the penis, enabling the achievement and maintenance of an erection. Additionally, Sildenafil Citrate is utilized in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.

The suggested dosage is 50 mg, which should be consumed 30 to 60 minutes prior to engaging in sexual activity. Depending on the side effects experienced, the dosage may be adjusted to 100 mg or reduced to 25 mg. The highest recommended dose is 100 mg. It is important not to take Suhagra more than once in a 24-hour period. It is advised to avoid high-fat meals and grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using this medication.

Before commencing treatment with Sildenafil Citrate, inform your doctor or healthcare provider about any allergies you may have. Middle-aged individuals can exhibit increased sensitivity to the medication's side effects. Suhagra may lead to dizziness or vision disturbances. It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption. Prior to using Suhagra, provide your doctor or pharmacist with your medical history, particularly regarding: sickle cell disease, high or low blood pressure, severe dehydration, previous instances of painful or prolonged erections (priapism), eye conditions, cardiovascular issues, kidney or liver diseases, pulmonary edema, or anatomical abnormalities of the penis (like angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie's disease). Sildenafil does not offer protection against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

Suhagra should not be combined with other medications that induce erections or nitrates, as this may lead to dangerously low blood pressure. Such interactions could result in dizziness, fainting, heart attack, or stroke. This medication is not suitable for women, children, or individuals who have sensitivities to any of its ingredients.

Common side effects include stomach upset, headaches, flushing, heartburn, nasal congestion, dizziness or diarrhea, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, prolonged (lasting more than 4 hours) or painful erections. Vision changes, such as heightened light sensitivity and blurred vision, may also occur. Though serious allergic reactions are uncommon, they can happen. This is not an exhaustive list of potential side effects. If you notice any side effects not included here, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Suhagra should not be taken alongside nitrates, recreational drugs containing amyl or butyl nitrite; alpha-blockers; other impotence medications; or certain medications for high blood pressure. Grapefruit juice may elevate the levels of sildenafil in the bloodstream, while a high-fat meal might diminish its effectiveness. For further guidance, consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

Suhagra is utilized on an as-needed basis, making missed doses unlikely. If an overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feelings of light-headedness or fainting.

Suhagra should be stored at room temperature, between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C), away from light and moisture. Avoid keeping medication in the bathroom. Ensure all medications are kept out of reach of children and pets.
